What is paint protection film?
Paint protection film is used to protect the integrity and beauty of your vehicle's paint finish. The 8mil (.008") clear urethane film adheres to the vulnerable painted areas of the vehicle. (ie. hood, fenders, side mirrors, grille, front bumper and almost anything) Hi-Line primarily uses SunTek PPF film on installations! The film they manufacture is only 8mil thick making it almost impossible to see lines from installation (Where paint protection film stops and your unprotected paint begins).
Does it really stop rocks from chipping the front of my car?
Absolutely! This product is used in many applications and was originally used to keep rocks from hitting propellers on airplanes. SunTek tests their film against the things you would normally encourter in your day-to-day driving. We have also done our own testing to see just how much can be thrown at this stuff - it is quite impressive what it will stand up to. Please stop in to check out the installation on our vehicles. We even have the competitions products installed for you to make the best decision for your vehicle.
Is it really invisible?
Will you see a line where to product ends and your uncoated paint begins - you can around 2-3 feet. Beyond that, it is invisible. We use the latest software (TruCut) to make sure that you get the best possible patterns. TruCut's patterns are cut to couture your vehicle body lines. This will limit the amount of visible lines. We can, of course, wrap your hood/fender/mirrors completely so you never see a line. Ask our assosiate which is best for your particular needs.
Is installation difficult? Can I do it myself?
The installation difficulty varies depending on the vehicle. Some vehicles are quick and easy while others with heavy contours can take more time and patience to install a kit properly. Our technicians have years of experience in all film applications. We don't recommend that you do the installation yourself, but we do offer precut kits, for the do-it-yourselfer. Considering the high cost of the product alone, we recommend you leave it to our years of experience. Remember, your warranty is longer when you have a professional do the installation.
How long will it last?
Most of our products are warranted for 5 years or more. Depending on your application and use of the product, it may very. You should check with your sales representative to make sure that you are covered after installation.
Depending on how you treat vehicles that you own, that can also play a role in how long this film will last. If you never wash your car - Expect this product to have as much shine in 5 years as a mistreated car. We recommend washing your vehicle frequently and using a non-petroleum based wax on your entire vehicle 3 times a year.

Do I need to do anything to maintain my vehicle once applied? What happens when I wax my car?
There is nothing special to maintaining a clear bra. Wash and wax your vehicle as you always have, but stay away from paste waxes. These can leave a residue along the edges of the film and some colored paste waxes can actually dye the film over time. Stick with clear spray waxes when possible. Plexus spray wax and Ultimate Quick Detailer are great products for polishing a clear bra. Spray it directly on the bra and wipe with a clean cloth.
What do I do if wax builds up on the edges of the kit when I wax my vehicle?
Q-tips, a soft toothbrush or a microfiber cloth does a great job in removing wax buildup. Abrasive polishes and/or rubbing compounds should not be used on a clear bra.
What if I want to take my car through a car wash?
Once the product has cured on the vehicle for a few days after installation, feel free to run it through any car wash. The clear bra will not be affected.
How long does installation take?
Installation times will depend upon the complexity of the vehicle. Installation can take anywhere from 2 hours for the simplest kit to a whole day for more complex installations. Your sales representative will be able to go over this with you prior to your vehicle being checked in.
